Meet the founder
Hear from niyah gonzalez:
Hey! Thanks for stopping by. I’m Niyah; former college hooper, Emmy award-winning journalist, content creator, and the founder of Essocial Co.
I’ve always been a storyteller and a competitor. Playing basketball taught me discipline and drive. Working in TV news sharpened that mindset even more. The newsroom was fast-paced, demanding, and incredibly competitive — long hours, tight deadlines, constant pivots, and zero room for excuses. You learned quickly how to think on your feet, communicate with clarity, and deliver — every single day.
For nearly a decade, I lived in that world. I produced stories that moved people, built trust with audiences, and earned an Emmy award along the way. I learned what captures attention in seconds, how narratives are shaped, and how visibility can open doors…or close them, depending on how it’s handled.
But even with all that success, I knew I wanted something more. I didn’t just want to tell stories. I wanted to help people own theirs. I decided to start something I could call my own.
“helping my clients build their legacy is also apart of building my legacy ”
Driven by passion
Leaving my full-time 10-year TV career to build something of my own wasn’t easy. It meant walking away from stability, comfort, and a title I worked hard for. But it was also the most rewarding decision I’ve ever made. Essocial Co was born out of that leap; out of the belief that strategy, storytelling, and intention could coexist in a more meaningful way.
Since then, I’ve worked with major brands like Tres Generaciones, Verizon, The Dallas Wings, and more — leading influencer campaigns, producing high-level experiential events, and helping athletes and entrepreneurs grow their digital presence with purpose. I’ve also built my own platform as a creator, giving me firsthand insight into what it means to be the talent and the strategist.
I’ve sat in every seat: the athlete, the journalist, the brand, the creator, and the strategist. That full-circle experience is what shapes how I work today. I understand the pressure, the expectations, and the stakes — and I bring that same level of care and execution to every project.
When we work together, you’re not just another project or invoice. I treat your vision like it’s my own, because I know how much it means to build something that matters. My clients aren’t just clients — they’re partners. Building my clients’ legacy is how I build my own.
Let’s build together.
